This new $3.5 million Athletic Complex on the campus of West Virginia State University is located adjacent to Lakin Field at Dickerson Stadium, home of the Yellow Jackets football team. The facility, just beyond the West end-zone, has a central entrance which grants both access and a dramatic connectivity to the playing field.
The two-story building has a glazed main façade and primarily houses the varsity football locker room, weight training, and instructional training programs on the main floor, with administrative office spaces for the coaching staff on the upper level. State of the art audio‐visual and weightlifting equipment coupled with unique architectural and interior design features serve to create a platform for competitive success and institutional pride for all the University’s student athletes.
